It’s like the ‘80s all over again on “Let the Flowers Grow,” the new single from Culture Club’s Boy George and BauhausPeter Murphy. The two iconic singers have been in each other’s musical orbits for decades now, but this marks the first time they have officially worked on a track together. The one-off collaboration also features Killing Joke’s Youth playing guitar and handling production on the track. While recording his new solo album in Spain with Youth, Murphy heard one of George’s unfinished demos, and he quickly added his own verses to the song. “In a matter of 20 minutes, we had ‘Flowers’ finished and we played it for Boy George, who wasn’t expecting it,” Murphy recalls. “He loved it and I’m so glad he did.” George said the collaborative song “makes me dizzy and proud,” revealing that he “was satiated in every way” when he first heard the mix. “I have always loved Pete’s voice and his writing on this adds a beautiful darkness,” George adds.
