Linkin Park have launched a 100-hour countdown timer on their social media accounts, although what specifically the band is counting down to revealing remains unclear. There are rumors circulating that Linkin Park will be reforming with a new vocalist to replace their late lead singer Chester Bennington, who died by suicide on July 20, 2017 at the age of 41. According to reports from Billboard earlier this year, the band members were contemplating a possible 2025 reunion tour and considering hiring a female vocalist to succeed Bennington.

Back in April, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda was asked by Revolver about a potential reunion affiliated with the release of Papercuts (Singles Collection: 2000-2023). “Rumors always go around. People always ask what’s next for the band, and the best answer I can ever give anybody is when there’s something to tell you, we will tell you. When there’s an announcement to be made, it will be on LinkinPark.com. If you’re hearing it from somebody else, you can trust that information as much as you want to trust it.” The Linkin Park countdown timer is scheduled to end on Wednesday, August 28. (Billboard)
